York Art Youth (YAY!), an initiative of York Art Association, in partnership with St. George’s and York Land Trust is proud to introduce York Harbor Music & Arts Camp.

    July 25 - 29, 2016
    8:30am to 4pm
at St. George's Church & Moulton Park
(across from York Art Association, 394 York Street, York Harbor)

A week-long camp for youth ages 8 and older. This camp will be a combination of music and visual arts and presented as a joint program of St. George's and York Art Association.  We are excited to launch this first week long camp and eager to continue to build the arts in our community for youth and families. Volunteers are sought to assist each day.

~ Learn about rhythm & blues and it’s roots in gospel through the exploration of music by famous R&B performers such as Beyonce, Alicia Keys, Michael Jackson and more.

~ Visual art techniques in acrylics, fiber painting, charcoals, pastels and weaving/sculpture

~ Sustainability: visual art will have a theme of embracing the nature that surrounds us, whether through subject matter or incorporation of found objects into creations & how they are reclaimed to nature.

The week will culminate on Friday with a group project bringing together all that the participants have learned. The students will work together weaving found objects to visualize their thoughts, emotions and feelings that the R&B music brings forth. Finally, there will be an artist reception and music exhibition in the YAA gallery beginning at 4:00, where the participants can show off all they created and learned throughout the week.

Please contact for more information.  Or call us at 207-363-4049.

All registrants are $199 for the full week of music & arts instruction. Cost includes all materials.
