    Annamarie Eggert

The work of York artist, Annamarie Eggert, has been strongly influenced by the paintings of British artist James M. W. Turner and the French Impressionists.  She focuses on the light and atmosphere in the development of her seascapes, landscapes, and florals.  This is accomplished by loose brushwork, soft edges, and transparent veils of color and light effects.  The airiness downplays the subject matter and plays up the subtlety of the mood.

She has studied art, primarily watercolor, in the United States, Italy and Greece, with over 15 nationally-known artists such as Carleton Plummer, Gerald Brommer, Jeanne Carbonetti, Zoltan Szabo, Stephen Quiller, and Tom Lynch.

Annamarie has received a Certificate of Merit from the Art Addiction Gallery of Stockholm, Sweden for two paintings exhibited in a show representing artists from all over the world.

Prior to moving to Maine eleven years ago, she was represented by Windrush Gallery of Sedona, Arizona.  Juried shows include the Arizona Watercolor Association, Northern Arizona Watercolor Association, Arizona State Fair, Northern Arizona University Senior Artists Exhibition, and the Sedona Art Center.  She has exhibited at one-artist shows at the Sedona City Hall and the Church of the Red Rocks.  The Sedona Medical Center has three of her paintings in their permanent collection and the Sedona City Hall has one.  Recently, she has exhibited at the York Art Association (where she was awarded a blue ribbon), York Library, Kittery Art Association, River Tree Center for the Arts in Kennebunk, and the Museums of Old York Decorator Show House.

    • 3 sessions
    • at the gallery after school

Using our team building skills, we will work together to create one large canvas, each of us moving around the table adding paint, then stamping, then handwriting. All supplies included.

    Session One: Feb 13th, 2:30-4:30

We will paint a large blank canvas together as a group using acrylic paints, fabric medium, permanent ink pads and rubber stamps, sharpie fabric markers and hand writing.

When finished we will divide into 6 equal sections which we can stitch and

    further embellish next sesión.

    Session Two:Feb 27th, 2:30-4:30

We can pick a project that inspires us; a bag, laptop cover, a canvas to hang on our wall with it’s own hanger…or something else that inspires our creative voice.

We will create the pattern with our canvas piece and further embellish it with beads, yarns, hand stitch and embroidery, added cloth, sharpie markers and buttons.

    Session Three: March 6th, 2:30-4:30

We will put it altogether and stitch with hemp cording to finish it up, and of course, add more love to it even still.

Taking better photos with your smartphone

The objective of this three-hour class is to demonstrate some of the features of smartphones that can result in higher quality images.  We will start off with a discussion of the features and options included in the camera app on common smartphones.  Then we’ll go outside and practice using those features.  We’ll shoot indoors if it is raining.  The class will finish with a discussion on how you can post-process your photos right in your phone to improve the images.

Tom Gilmore started Tom Gilmore Photography:  Landscapes and Wildlife, after retiring from Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.  Locally, his favorite places to photograph are the forests and rivers protected by the several land trusts in York County.  His favorite locations outside of Maine are in Alaska, especially the Brooks Range mountains in the Arctic.  He serves on the Boards of Directors of the Great Works Regional Land Trust and the Sanford Art Association.  His images can be seen on Facebook, at www.TomGilmore.Photography, and often at the Sanford and York Art Associations’ galleries.
