    Figure Drawing and Painting Group

    10 am to 1 pm

    Description:

The beauty of life is incredibly difficult to capture, and yet, from the dawn of time artists have been meeting the challenge. Beginning on Tuesday, September 8th from 10am to 1pm the Life Drawing and Painting Group will be imitating life at the YAA Gallery. The group is facilitated by Bess Cutler, MFA graduate of the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston, former New York and Boston gallery owner and established artist.

Each week local and regional artists of all levels are invited to participate in drawing and/or painting in their preferred style and media. Ms. Cutler’s groups are known for their easy-going, friendly atmosphere and excellence of models.  With a somewhat unconventional and dynamic style, a live model will assume short warm-up poses initially and then one or two long poses for the balance.

There is no instruction and a $10 per person fee to is charged to participate.  Membership in YAA is not required. Please bring your own materials. Chairs, lighting and tables will be provided.

Fees: $10 that will go toward paying the model

If you have any questions about this group,
    please contact

Nothing enriches a real artist like a serious challenge! Song and music are sound. Dance is motion.  None of these arts have a concrete form.  This show challenges us to give tangible form to that which is formless. When the performing and visual arts are married, both artist and viewer are enriched by the union.

    Release your creative side -

I am a self taught mixed media artist and expressive arts facilitator with a background in communications arts. I’ve taught at national retreats and in my own studio.  I am all about helping you see your creative potential in whatever way you choose to use it.

Enjoy three hours getting out of your head and embracing freedom in your creativity. In any creative      endeavor, we face the critic, the I’m-not-good-enough, or the “stuckness” as I call it.  This class focuses on ways to stay contected to your art, get through the “stuckness” and open up new pathways on your creative journey.

In these three hours we will create a toolbox of openers, idea makers and block busters using humble materials and found tools to make marks, that help us tell our artistic story.

I will bring tools and materials from my stash for you to use as well.
