Also, during the month of August, for the first time, Jacque and Gordon France will also be exhibiting their original watercolor and oil paintings of people at York Harbor Beach. The fun in the sun, color and atmosphere of our beach and ocean inspired her to capture everything from people just hanging out on beach chairs to kids challenging the surf.

This talented team is from Chicago but spend much of the summer in York. Much of their time is spent sketching and painting in the area and the beach became a natural for her subjects. Jacque’s sketches and photographs of beach activity later are developed into full size oil paintings completed in her studio. Jacqueline is a popular painting teacher and art association/guild member and conducts regular oil painting classes, critiques, demonstrations and painting workshops in the Chicago area and throughout the midwest. They both attended the Art Institute of Chicago.

Jacque and Gordon will also present a special four hour workshop that will include live demos of each oil and water color medium, ample individual help and encouragement and positive critique of all students' works. It is $90 to attend. Turn those mail catalogs that flood our mailboxes into beautiful journals.  Make one for yourself and then make a bunch to give as gifts to you friends at the holidays.

Using a mail catalog, security envelopes, and other collage materials we will be creating journals that you can use to make your own art inside, or just write your thoughts.  Use up free resources and make gifts for your friends, your teens and yourself.

Add pages that fold out, make your own hidden pockets and create something that would otherwise end up in the recycle pile.
