Mission Statement

It is the mission of the York Art Association to:

PROMOTE the active association of practicing artists,
art students, and art supporters in the local community

CULTIVATE the creation, display, evaluation, and sale
of a broad variety of fine art media and craft artisan work

ENCOURAGE its members to share * through Association teamwork *
in all aspects of its mission, planning, responsibilities, and operation

FOSTER an enthusiastic esprit de corps among its members

We support our mission by:

FURTHERING fellowship, interest, communication, advocacy, and
education in the arts in the Greater York community

PROVIDING space, support, and publicity for holding
quality exhibitions of the fine arts

CONDUCTING art classes, gallery talks, lectures, and
demonstrations; and providing scholarships in the arts

REACHING OUT to both established and emerging artists, as well as non-artists,
schools and other cultural centers, corporations, and local area businesses
