Standing Rules

1. Laurel Hicker Memorial Scholarship/Education Fund
This fund is to be used only for educational purposes. Expenditures from this account must be approved by he Board of Directors.


2. Constitution By-Laws and Standing Rules
All Board members of the organization must be provided with a copy of the Constitution, By-Laws and Standing Rules upon assuming office.


3. Job Description
All job descriptions for officers and committee chairs shall be filed permanently in the YAA Corporation Book. A copy of the appropriate job description shall be given to each officer and committee chair upon assuming office. All job descriptions shall be reviewed annually by the Board.


4. Publicity Limitations
In order to maintain non-profit status, the YAA may not publicize by newsletter or other commercial means the outside activities of individual members for personal gain.


5. Monies Received
All money/checks collected under YAA auspices must be paid or made payable to the Treasurer. YAA, to insure proper bookkeeping procedures.


6. Class and Workshop Requirements
Advertisement for classes or workshops must include limits of maximum and minimum enrollment figures to allow for possible cancellation. Income from the workshops, classes, etc., must be sufficient to cover cost of classes after payment of YAA commission. Under no circumstances should a class or workshop be held unless it is completely funded. The Board of Directors may waive this provision under special circumstance.


7. Art Work Suitability
Questions of the suitability of any work displayed under YAA auspices should be addressed to the Board of Directors.


8. Integrity of Merit Awards
In order to insure the highest standards in our Merit Awards, no association member or members of show committee (or others) should be within the gallery during final judging process.


9. Board Meeting Attendance
Board meeting agendas are printed or emailed two weeks prior to board meeting. Auditing board meetings are open to the general membership. Participation in any Board discussion requires inclusion on the agenda.


10. Removal
At a special meeting of members (per Robert’s Rules, Chapter 20 Disciplinary Procedures) called for that purpose, any individual may be removed for wrong doing by a vote of 2/3 of members present.


11. Animals
YAA is primarily a gallery and no place for animals. Animals are not allowed into YAA.
