Show Description: 
Work submitted will evoke the wonder and joy of the fullness of Spring. We will also include floral sculpture and live arrangements. Due to limited space for display, 3-dimensional work should not exceed 14"x14"x14".

Wendy Cahill, proprietor of Annie Grafics in York Village,  will be the judge of the May YAA show, Art in Bloom.  Wendy has a background in art which began in 1994 when she graduated from the Manchester Institute of Art, following a 2 year certificate program in Photography.

She started photographing weddings, events, and family portraits when she realized her passion was  photographing people and capturing portraits of the environment.   When Wendy was in school she photographed her instructors’ young daughter at the Currier Museum in Manchester, in front of a Painting by John Singer Sargent. It became her signature piece and was used by the Currier in Publications to attract young visitors. 

Wendy was Governor Lynch's Photographer for 8 years. In this capacity she photographed his inaugurations, personal events and the Governor’s annual family christmas card. 

Gov. Lynch appointed Cahill in 2008 to the NH State Council on the Arts where she served  for 4 years representing Concord. In that capacity she helped choose Artists for new and renovated State Office buildings under the Percentage for Art program. She also helped choose recipients for the Governors Art awards, and helped decide where grant monies would be best used.

Currently Wendy enjoys photographing wooden boats. She looks for details that you can get with a long lens of sail patterns, the grain of the wood, and polished brass.  In that end, she sails each year on The Mary Day, a schooner out of Camden. Her pursuit is capturing the beauty of passing boats, the rugged shoreline and the Mary Day itself.

Opening Reception: Friday, May 1 from 5-7 pm

Show Fees:  $10 for members for 3 pieces. Non-refundable

Drop Off Dates:  Sunday & Monday, Apr 26-27 from 4 - 6 pm

Pick up Date (for non-accepted art): Thurs, Apr 30, 12 - 5 pm

Pick Up at Closing:  Sun & Mon, May 31 & June 1 from 4 - 6 pm

  • Open to Members only - Artists can join at Art Drop Off, Single Membership is $40 per year
  • Artists may submit up to 3 original pieces. 
  • All works must be for sale and YAA receives a 30% commission on all sales.
  • Work must conform to YAA Hanging Guidelines.  Click here.
  • Artists submit artwork at their own risk.  YAA is not able to accept responsibility for loss or damage.
  • Show agreement and label forms can be found on the YAA website (Click on SHOWS then SHOW FORMS). Forms will also be available at the gallery but completing them in advance will save time during intake. Please visit the website for hanging guidelines.
Note: Volunteers are needed to gallery sit on Thursdays and Fridays. This can be done on Sign up Genius, which will show up on your email, or at time of intake. Without volunteers the gallery cannot open on Thursdays and Fridays.
