A York Art Association exclusive, paint "Nubble at Christmas" and discover the joy of painting in a relaxed no judgement zone while learning painting tricks and techniques - painting ground, blocking in the painting, scale, 3D perspective, color mixing and more. There are no wrong or right answers in art but instead lots of experimenting, discovery and ownership. That is what art is all about. Bring your holiday spirit and make Nubble yours - Come out and paint with us!
No experience needed. All supplies are included in your $30.00 registration fee. Refreshments will be served.(A portion of ticket sale proceeds will go to YAA Scholarship Fund and Building Repair Fund.)
This will be lead by lifelong artist, Melinda Campbell earned a Bachelor of Fine Art from UMASS, Dartmouth and shared her love of art teaching children as an elementary art educator for thirty years. In 2004, she earned a Master of Science in Education from UNE, Biddeford. In 2013, upon retiring from teaching in Maine public schools, she independently contracted with a Boston a paint and sip start-up and shared her joy of painting with adults. Presently, Melinda is writing/illustrating children's books as well as painting daily and showing her work (www.melindacampbell.net.)
Melinda is a 2013 Monhegan Artist in Residence Fellow and 2008 Maine Arts Teacher Fellowship - Maine Community Foundation and Maine Arts Educators Alliance with which she traveled to Umbria Italy to study and paint the Italian landscape. http://melindacampbell.net/page/3180/cv.
