An Abstract Exploration

Show Description

A celebration of the departure from accurate representation and the freedom of abstract expression through 2- and 3-dimensional mediums. Themes of line, color, texture, and geometric abstraction are explored.

Featured Artist and Juror: Pat Kennedy Corlin

Pat Kennedy Corlin is a photographer who lives in Strafford, NH. Providing a wide range of private and commercial services, Pat can be found working in studio at The Performing Images Photo Loft in Strafford and the Seacoast Photography Studios in the beautiful Newmarket Mills of New Hampshire. She will tell you that she feels complete when her work has a positive and lasting effect on others. An avid nature, portrait, travel and freelance photographer, she is never happier than when traveling the globe, photographing people and locations such as Cambodia, Africa, Hawaii, Canada, Europe, Caribbean Islands and hiking or skiing the mountains of northern New England, the Rockies and the Austrian Alps with her photo gear on her back and at the ready!

Show Dates:  Apr 6 to Apr 27, Thurs to Sun, 12-5 pm

Opening Reception:  Friday, Apr 4 - 4 to 6 pm

Drop Off Dates:  Sun and Mon,  March 30-31,  4-6 pm

Pick Up Dates:  Sun and Mon, April 27-28, 4-6 pm

Show Details:  

  • This is a juried show, open to members and non members of YAA.  
  • Medium: Open
  • Up to 3 pieces of art may be submitted. One piece guaranteed to be exhibited
  • Fees: $10 for members, $25 for non-members. Fees are non-refundable.
  • All work must be for sale with 30% of the proceeds going to York Art Association.

  • Show agreement and label forms can be found on the YAA website (Click on SHOWS then SHOW FORMS). 
  • Forms will also be available at the gallery, but completing them in advance will save time during the art drop off. Please visit the website for hanging guidelines
  • Artists submit artwork at their own risk.  YAA is not able to accept responsibility for loss or damage
